A Few Feng Shui Tips for Upcoming 2010 Year of the Tiger

As the Year of the Ox draws to a close and the Year of the Tiger officially begins on February 4, 2010, so many people have been asking me to give them some pointers that enable them to have the competitive edge. For everyone, the helpful and harmful direction and colors fluctuate based on their individual Five Elements compositions. Clients who have been with me for a long time are accustomed to request their annual Feng Shui “check up” starting as early as September to ensure that they make it onto my to-do list early enough to get a head start. Tiger year

For those who followed my forecast for the Year of the Ox that began February 4, 2009 ending February 3, 2010 you remember that I stated stagnation in growth and recovery would overshadow any short term gains or signs of improvements. Now that we are about to transition into the Year of the Tiger we contemplate the changes in the Five Elements composition in the upcoming year. Tiger ruling element is Wood – which symbolizes growth – but the Element of the YEAR is Metal – which is not a positive combination. This means although there may be improvements in some areas, there will be limitation and side effects accompanying the new cycle. This is because Metal Element chops and reduces the Wood Element in the Five Elements philosophy.

The joy of the upswing might be compromised by an increase in the price of energy and natural resources. Inflation might be an end result.

For individuals who want to increase the intellectual energy to be able to analyze and make the best plan financially as well as those who want their children to get better grades in school, it will be helpful to stimulate the north direction improving the intellectual Chi people need. You could do this by getting the right kind of plant and placing it in the north direction to a location (home or office). Generally, plants with sharp foliage or Cactus should be avoided. For this purpose, this plant should have stronger, commanding Chi that it is more upright vs the droopy type like Philodendron, ferns or leaves that hang over a lot. If you are unsure, simply pick Bamboo stems of varied height grown in water and place that onto the furniture in the north direction to your work space or home. This becomes the ideal place for you to develop new strategy or do your study for advancement. Traditionally, the ideal number of stems varied based on the person’s Chinese Zodiac sign, but, in this case, I would give a generic number of seven as in the cycle per week. After all, everyone has gone through a repositioning period in many areas of their lives in the past two dramatic years and hoping the Year of the Tiger can give more strength in new growth. In addition to this, I would also suggest having a low voltage light that could be kept on 24/7 by or over this plant so that the positive energy can be consistent. To be more environmentally sensitive, set up a timer that would light this area from dusk to dawn. If for some reason a plant can’t be put there, place some decoration consisting on the green color and light this area accordingly as mentioned above.

To improve wealth energy in this Year of the Tiger, stimulating the East direction of the site (home or office) could be helpful and the type of plant should also be upright and strong in growth unlike the droopy type. You may put flowers or orchid there if preferred. To further enhance the Yang Chi, the plant in soil should be grown from a planter that has a Fire Element color tone like red, maroon or other Fire Element tone as indicated in my web site for Five Elements color reference. Otherwise, the flower chosen should be more vibrant in colors consisting of some Fire Element tone (pink, purple, orange, red) or even yellow while staying away from pale color like white, cream of Yin chi.

The inside tips to making your Feng Shui recommendations have more traction and result, program your intention during the purchase and placement stage. Upon completion, a prayer that connects to the divine energy for your intention would set the momentum better.

Best of luck to you all!

We All Need Nature Locations to Purify and Recharge

As the holiday season is upon us and the New Year is fast approaching, more than ever people need to charge up to improve the status quo. It is important to be more conscious of where you can refresh your mind and energy. This means that no matter where you live, you must find a couple of locations that have nature where you can go daily in order to circulate the energy within you. There must be an outlet to release/output stress and tiredness while you could input the positive energy from nature.

Even in the midst of the city it's possible to find a little nature

These are locations that after a stressful day or week when reality overwhelms you, you go there to breathe, heal, think and charge up so that you can better handle what is ahead. Nature and solar energy, especially at dawn and pre-sunset period is how I charge up from my demanding role that has to guide and comfort everyone I have affinity with as the master. It isn’t bars and drinks that can heal, it is nature that has trees, grass, sunlight, water (ocean, river,…) that can refresh our own energy.

For years, I have been telling many of my clients and friends to stop thinking about the heavy issues at home, take them outside to nature and the formula could be figured out much more easily. Intense, heavy issues in our heads are not the energy we should be infusing into our home because it can sink our luck further.

For people who are relocating to a new city, one of the first projects should be finding the nature spots that feel right to one’s vibration. This is the foundation to good mental, emotional and physical health because we are the product to our own environment. Those who have their Five Elements figured out by knowing the information calculated by the birth year, month, date and time, their search could be more precise.

For example, people missing the Water Element should look for an environment that has water like ocean, river, water fountain or pool,… People missing the Wood Element should be looking for a location with trees, grass, flowers,… People missing the Fire Element should be like the people missing the Wood Element, be in the Wood environment and if can find vibrant color flowers like pink, red, orange or purple to look at would be even better. People missing the Earth Element should be somewhere that there are rocks, mountains, soil, stone trail,…. People missing the Metal Element should be finding a place that has exposure from the west direction with lawns and some earth element around.

Especially, people living in the urban environment with very limited time to spare still need to recharge for their own good. With demands of managing the family, one should consider it as not luxury, but, necessity to spare a few minutes in the end of the day to shift the mood to balance before the real interaction with your loved ones. Your feelings will always be felt by them. Being in the city, you might only have a few minutes to sit in the courtyard of your apartment complex or nearby apt. complex with a garden. Be flexible, creative and adaptable in finding where the recharging spots are – something is better than nothing. If you do it right, sitting there for a few minutes to calm your mind, breath and close your eyes to meditate or find your own soul again can be a powerful way to synchronize your energy so that you could have the proper mood to create quality time with your family.

Remember, if you don’t feel good, you are not going to be a good companion to any one. In the journey of life, everyone has his or her own issues, it is good karma to not load too much of your own problems to your loved ones if there is a way that you could solve it yourself. Nature provides you this strength and it is your job to tap into it. Enjoy!

Feng Shui Principles & Back To School Supplies: Shopping for Success!

This is crunch time for back to school shopping! Did you know you can create the competitive edge for your child to excel in school through the Five Elements principle?

Five Elements chart

Five Elements chart

Authentic Feng Shui or healing systems (Herbal, acupuncture) from the Chinese culture use Yin Yang and the Five Elements principle to balance the subject. Five Elements represented by colors and can be used to help calm or stimulate your child as needed through objects needed for school. A dozen year ago when I was commissioned by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to develop one of the wings and give specs for the architects and interior designers to build from, I was impressed that the medical profession has incorporated Color Therapy into the treatment program already.

Colors we see affect our mood and colors we wear affects how we feel and how we’re seen by others; that’s why adults should wear colors beneficial to our own Five Elements in job interviews, important meetings or even dates we go on.

As parents, it is our responsibility to help best shape the future of our children through knowledge of their Five Elements composition that gives insight to their strength and weaknesses, the high or low cycle as an individual, and how to incorporate colors beneficial to their educational development.

My clients have me do a Five Elements profile of their children at birth, so that the nursery and wardrobe would include balancing, helpful colors, themes, materials and compass directions customized for the best possible development.

Make the main colors of his or her wardrobe the helpful colors as shown here. But if you haven’t gotten a chart done then go with the basic Yin Yang colors reference for now.

If you child is aggressive or overly active, add Yin (gentle) colors that are neutral like khaki, white, pale yellow or gray.

If your child is passive, needs motivation and too easy going, add Yang (dominating) colors like red, orange, purple, pink to stimulate energy.

The ideal wardrobe colors should have the helpful combination as the majority and alternate with the other so that there are choices the children would like.

Kids’ supplies, like school bag, pen, pencil, notebook, book cover, computer cover, screen saver, cell phone cover,…. should correspond to the child’s Five Elements composition. For example, if your child lacks the Wood Element, incorporate book cover with leaves, trees, grass images or green or brown colors to compensate. Children needing Water Element should have fish, seashells, sailboat, blue or black color bookmark, book cover that can be helpful to them.

For adults, having the right colors to wear for job interviews, major meetings or even date mean elevating the chance for success: when you feel good you radiate more positive energy. Women can incorporate these colors through jewelry, purse or scarf, men through ties, key chains, pocket squares. The secret to many executives and owners of businesses through the past couple of dozen years I helped: a stash of various colors of underwear that correspond to their own elements helpful in various Lunar year.

Five Elements for car is sufficient because having a car in colors harmful to your elements means that safety can be jeopardized. One of my clients has too much fire and once was stuck with a red rental car – she felt ill whenever she got into the car, and though she had a driver was still involved in a car accident in this car. Having observed many car color issues in this decade between my dad and myself, we have seen that people driving the wrong color cars often spend more money on repairs and summons.

The things we are surrounded by do have an effect on us, so should be managed wisely. This is an ancient Chinese secret that many parents of Asian descent adapt, to help their children achieve academically. Wishing you smart shopping!

Improving Your Business Results

As I quoted in my last blog post, “Success is the combination of good timing, helpful networking and optimal geography (Feng Shui).” The first two can be calculated by the Chinese Astrology/Four Pillars/Five Elements method, therefore minimizing risk. However, to achieve the commanding position in business or career all three must be aligned.

Timing
For example having a great real estate property for sale in the wrong time, like now. You can sing its praises until you turn your face blue, still not that many people will or even can buy because of the tough financing requirements now or fear of losing future income. Even if you have good networking and good Feng Shui, the curse of wrong timing would be very hard to overcome. In fact, there are plenty of business people experiencing this problem with their projects right now.

Networking
Helpful networking is necessary in this stage and age in order to achieve your goals. Not only do you have to know your own real strength and weaknesses from the Chinese Astrology character tendency, you also have to know if your partners (business and personal) or closes alliances are beneficial for you to work with. Through this, you can find out if you are in or going into a lucky or unlucky cycle of the Lunar Zodiac cycle rotation that begins on February 4th each year and ends on the next February 3rd. This can foretell if timing is working for or against you, allowing you to take the appropriate passive or proactive approach professionally and financially.

This is why a lot of top executives of major companies commission me to calculate their charts to augment their strategy decisions. This includes whom to hire in their direct team such as assistant or key positions like CEO, CFO, Marketing Director, Manager,… I often advise my clients not only hire the important support staff helpful to him or her, but, hopefully, these people as individual is going into high cycle so that they could bring “luck”, high energy onto the ship. Rubbing elbows with people in high cycle is beneficial while mingling people with low or bad luck has the adverse effect. Energy field is best to be preserved when we can and that’s why selecting the people with helpful energy in the inner circle is a smart thing to do. You get better advice, inspiring ideas more enjoyment out of people that are grounded in thinking that a low cycle person cannot bring to the table.

Geography
Optimal geography is good Feng Shui because even if you have good timing and networking, if the product you are selling is in the wrong location or market, all is defeated. This is why franchises spend a lot of money on market research so that they are placed correctly demographically, but, still, wrong spot in the area that has Feng shui problems still can affect their bottom line.

Current Cycle
Based on the Chinese Astrology cycle rotating into, the Water Element year in 2007 through Year of the Boar and 2008 Year of the Rat in this millennium is meant to go through flushing out the old and starting new in very dramatic ways. This Ox year of Double Earth is also heavy going for many. The turn of energy can be predicted and to some extent mitigated with a reliable advisor that has accurate metaphysical insight.

Future Cycle
February 4, 2010 begins the Year of the Tiger, therefore, helpful to people with Chinese Zodiac sign of Boar – not so good for Snake or Monkey. Tiger is a Wood sign, and 2010 will be a Metal year, so there is some conflict there (Metal chops Wood). Tiger year natives are vulnerable in Tiger year. However, this does not mean all Tigers would be unlucky because if the Five Elements is balanced through Feng Shui and the Chinese Astrology, palm, face, voice, chi feature is strong, according to the Chinese Destiny Reading of the Tin Sun Lineage, the chance of success would be possible. This is a comprehensive statistic and accurate science that has evolved for a couple of thousand years in the Chinese culture with documented record.

Michael Jackson Destiny Revealed

MichaelJackson

I was interviewed by MTV in 2006 when it was the year of the Dog, the Chinese Astrology sign that Michael Jackson belonged to, I was asked to comment his and other celebrities who were born under the same sign. My comment about Michael Jackson was that the plastic surgery he did on his nose “chopped his fortune away and it got worse every time he did work on it”. He broke his chi and ability to hold his wealth with each nose job.

Being a Feng Shui master and expert in Chinese Destiny Reading – which enables me to know the soul and mind of a person – I know for sure that fame and fortune do not equate to peace and contentment. As a spiritual and compassionate person with insights to what challenge or gift a person is born with (based on the Chinese Destiny Reading system of the Tin Sun Lineage, encompassing Four Pillars/Five Elements Philosophy/Chinese Astrology, Palm, Face, Voice, Chi, and Body profile Reading), I want to help people better their lives. It is such a shame that the western culture is unaware of the possibility of knowing one’s own destiny, therefore, most people go about life being ignorant and helpless to it. This makes them the victims of circumstances from birth that can stay with them throughout life as we see in the case of Michael Jackson.

Having fame and fortune, yet, no true friend or advisor that has his best interest at heart to help him sort through personal feelings with confidentiality is the agony of famous and successful people. Sure, there are plenty of psychologists, astrologers, trainers and all kinds of consultants around; but the celebrity circle seems to lack a true advisor that could get to the core of the issues with a comprehensive approach. Treating the surface causes them to not be able to correct the problem at the source and make peace with the past, present and future.

The most effective solution to better one’s life is analyzing birth data through the Four Pillars philosophy that pinpoints the characteristics, gifts, challenges, up and down cycles of a person from birth onward and on how the cycles are affected on an annual basis base by the Lunar cycle. This is the way to help a person see what is meant to be, then, through the awakening and Feng Shui to redirect the path.

The Chinese Astrology composition of Michael Jackson has him weighed down by the Earth Element with intensity in the Metal Element. This means that he absorbed remarks from people that he could not shake off easily, and held grudges – negative feelings that destroyed his own sense of peace. To make matter worse, the seed of his Chinese Astrology was also an Earth Element to intensify the Double Earth Element he was born with, making him even more introverted.

The childhood and youth reflected by the Monthly stem were both of Metal Element, therefore, it indicated the enormous pressure as a child who lived around being “shown” and superficial rim. It was a childhood robbed and unable to develop fully. In other word, he was sadly born to be a victim of the outer force whether it was by family or social reasons. I give him credit that regardless of his private pain and confusion, he was able to contribute his talent to the world and we should cut him the slack. After all, he united people of all races through his music and brought pride to African Americans and the US.

In the Chinese Destiny Reading of the Tin Sun Lineage, we also study a person’s face to know the overall wellness in life in regards to health, wealth, career & relationship,… For a couple of thousand years with documented record in the Chinese culture, “the nose of a woman reflects the wealth of her husband while the nose on a man reflects his own wealth”. Many Jewish women get nose work adjusting the elevation and that is less harmful than what Michael Jackson did reducing its width. Jacky Chan and many wealthy people have strong feature nose that has enough width to ground the wealth energy. Michael Jackson created most of his fortune before his nose job and if he would have consulted in me, I would have convinced him to avoid such work.

Being strong Earth Element while missing the Water and Fire Element, he was lacking the Fire Energy to feed to his Earth Element because in the Five Elements philosophy, Fire feeds Earth. This means he gets drained out easily and lack fuel to move forward – and this would have been something that I could have helped him to overcome. He should have adapted more Fire Energy into his energy field through solar charge with sunlight which I know he purposely avoided. He should have also adapted Fire Element colors around and on him to increase the Yang chi that he lacked. Fire Element is associated with strength, vitality, courage and having the right Feng Shui colors in his space and wardrobe could have helped him.

At the same time, he was missing the Water Element, which provides flexibility and adaptability. It is dangerous to have intense Earth Element while missing the Water Element because the risks of mental and energetic stagnation multiply. Imagine soil that lacks rain for a long time, it is not fertile creating cracks and crumples, similar to Michael’s mental state, stuck and buried in his own emotions. If he had been my client, I would have talked him into swimming to ease the intense Earth energy he was weighed down with.

The bubble he created for himself was a time bomb to early death. My customized plan for his wellness based on his core energy would have been swim at sundown, when the prana (energy) is best in releasing negativity. And I would have him swim in ocean or salt water pool as much as possible. I could also give him the alternative of taking salt bath and submerge from head to toes. When the energy moves, the mind moves and there is a greater opportunity to be more mentally balanced when energy is balanced.

Michael was not the first person to be victimized by his own iconic status, nor the last. When will the western consciousness become aware of the ancient Chinese wisdom that can awaken people to their own destiny and find peace within? Like in the Art of War, “Know your opponent/challenges and know yourself, you shall be victorious in every battle.”
